The Bay opened its doors in 2012, and has now since built up its brand name and grown its community outreach.

The Coffee Bar located inside The BAY is Lincoln’s favorite creative hub. Set in a restored warehouse, the Coffee Bar serves unique espresso, crafted coffee cocktails featuring Counter Culture coffee and espresso; and a small menu of in house made food items. Sip on coffee, get some work done and be inspired by the beautiful mural work of Wes Sam-Bruce.

Art has always been something that The BAY has placed significant emphasis on. They believe that art is one of the most powerful means of allowing young people to better understand themselves, and better communicate themselves to others. However, in typical BAY fashion, they do art differently.

The Bay offers a variety of seating from booths to tables to bar tops!

The BAY Lincoln is home to a 28000 ft²/2601.30 m² Indoor Skatepark. The park was designed and built by The BAY team under the direction of TJ Timmerman. The park features are composed, primarily, of concrete and baltic birch.

The Bay offers Skate school, which is a perfect opportunity for first time skaters, or new skaters, to get comfortable on the skateboard, and improve their skills. Skate school is a group format skate lesson led by the Precision Skateshop team and volunteers of The BAY Lincoln.

The BAY distributes 112 All-Access Passes throughout the Lincoln Public Schools, through social workers and counselors. These passes allow free entry to the skatepark, concerts, digital art space, a mentor through Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters, and a meal from the Coffee Bar every night starting in 2018.

Concert Venue The BAY is home to a 3,000sq/ft concert venue and meeting space. The 16′ x 16′ stage is outfitted with one of Lincoln’s most impressive sound systems, and is ready for your favorite show.

The BAY features Counter Culture Coffee which has been roasted in North Carolina for twenty-one years. Counter Culture prides itself in supporting single-lot and small farmers and paying fair wages, to not only the farmers, but to the shippers and handlers of coffee. Stop in and try beans from all over the world at The BAY Coffee Bar.
Why The Bay? Because... why not? It's about a two-minute drive from UNL City Campus and has very accessible parking surrounding the building. The seating situation is off the charts. Large tables for collaboration, booths, and stand-alone tables are readily available- all fully-loaded with outlets galore. Their local coffee and food are sure to take your taste buds and #InstagramGame to the next level. Overall, The Bay is a notoriously righteous place to study for its great tunes, amenities, and friendly staff.
GPA: 3.43
Nap-ability: D
Unless you're uber keen on sleeping with your head on a table in a sun-soaked room, The Bay is definitely not your prime napping spot. One may find this to be a disadvantage if they value study spots based on optimized procrastination, but the movers and shakers of the world will find this to be a #MajorKey.
Outlets: A+
Need plugs? Well, good thing The Bay has 'em! Almost every booth has multiple charging outlets for you and your significant other, and if you happen to not snag a booth, there are outlets located all over the place.
Caffeine Boost: A+
Coffee, tea, cookies, oh my! The Bay is filled to the brim with delicious, locally-sourced fuel for your buds and brain. You can also pay $1 extra for a "Community Cup" to treat a friend in need of a cup o' Joe.
Ambiance: A+
The Bay's open concept, an array of tables, and plenitude of windows encourages a collaborative and inspiring environment. With alternative beats and the constant smell of their signature drinks pumping in the background, the ambiance of The Bay takes the cake.
Accessibility: B+
While The Bay is not necessarily walking distance from campus, it is very easy to find and is open at most peak studying hours during the day. However, it is not open on Sundays AKA crunch day, which many see as a downfall.
Productivity: A+
If you're trying to get 'er done, this is the place for you. Spread your books out over a large table, grab a coffee or six, and settle into a day's work at this bright, welcoming study spot.
